Gearing up for another field season of GPS TD logger deployments. On the mainland, Kate Robinson is checking through equipment and sorting out supplies. It will soon be time to head to the colony to begin the African Penguin breeding monitoring on Robben Island.
Logger equipment tool box contents are reviewed and other field gear checked.
Inside the box, loggers are carefully packed with bubble wrap and waterproof tape is kept in sealed plastic bags to keep it in good condition.
The first EarthWatch African Penguin Project team of the year will start on Monday 12 March 2012. The monitoring information the volunteers collect will be used to identify suitable nests for logger deployments.
Good luck in the coming field season Kate and congratulations on your "upgrade" (you crazy penguin watcher you)
